Dr. William (Bill) Pugh is an Associate Professor of Practice in the Information Systems and Cyber Security department at The University of Texas at San Antonio, affiliated with the Alvarez College of Business. He holds a Doctor of Business Administration (Dr.B.A.) from the University of the Incarnate Word, an MBA from the same institution, a Master of Science in Liberal Studies (Information Systems) from Texas A&M Central Texas, and a Bachelor of Arts in History from Louisiana Tech University.
His professional experience includes roles at USAA (banking systems), Teledyne CollaborX (managing Air Force Global Strike Command staff), and Northrop Grumman (Electronic Warfare training at Fort Sill). A retired U.S. Air Force veteran, he served as a Master Navigator and Electronic Warfare Officer on B-52, B-1B, and Navy EA-6B aircraft, participating in combat deployments. He is a Project Management Professional (PMP) and Certificated Flight Instructor (CFI).
Teaching focuses on Information Assurance, Cyber Security Fundamentals, and Advanced Topics in Information Systems. His career bridges academic instruction, corporate IT, and military operations with emphases in systems security, project management, and aviation.
