Dr. William Payre is Assistant Professor in Transport Design and Human Factors at Coventry University's Centre for Future Transport and Cities. His research examines human interaction with automated transportation systems.
Research investigates driver trust in automation, effects of non-driving tasks on performance, and safety implications of vehicle automation. Recent projects include simulator studies on driver attention allocation during automated driving.
Awards include Ergonomics Journal Best Paper Award for work on music tempo effects in simulated driving.
