William McCaffrey is a Lecturer in the Chemical and Materials Engineering Department at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Alberta. He leads projects at the Centre for Oil Sands Innovation (COSI) focusing on bitumen pre-treatment and solvent-assisted extraction methodologies.
- Bachelor's, Master's, and Ph.D. from McGill University
- Joined University of Alberta in 1996
His research spans two primary areas:
- Polymers From Renewable Resources: Developing biodegradable polymers through microbiological and chemical processes.
- Bitumen Separation and Upgrading: Utilizing advanced reactor systems and molecular modeling to optimize heavy oil processing.
