William Luis holds the Gertrude Conaway Vanderbilt Professorship in Spanish at Vanderbilt University, where he serves as editor of the Afro-Hispanic Review. Internationally recognized as a leading authority on Latin American, Caribbean, Afro-Hispanic, and Latino U.S. literatures, his work bridges historical and contemporary cultural discourses.
