معرفی
William Kubitz is a distinguished alumnus and former faculty member at the University of Illinois. He earned his BS (1961) and MS (1962) in Physics, followed by a PhD in Electrical Engineering (1968). His research focused on graphics, VLSI, and circuits, contributing to pioneering work in color painting systems combining analog/digital technologies. Kubitz served as Associate Head of the Computer Science Department from 1985, driving critical initiatives such as establishing the department's first PC labs and overseeing the expansion of the DCL building. He played a pivotal role in networking the campus and modernizing curricula, including early online course offerings. Kubitz was instrumental in planning and constructing the Thomas M. Siebel Center for Computer Science, ensuring the facility met the department's evolving needs. Though retired in 2000, he remained actively involved in the Siebel Center's development and operations.
