William K. Hallman is a Distinguished Professor in the Department of Human Ecology at Rutgers University. His research focuses on food safety, risk communication, consumer perceptions of new technologies, environmental health, and public policy. He holds affiliations with the Department of Nutritional Sciences and the Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy.
Education: Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology from the University of South Carolina (1989); B.S. from Juniata College (1983).
Research Interests: Dr. Hallman studies foodborne illness, food labeling, environmental contaminants, and the communication of scientific risks. He investigates consumer acceptance of emerging technologies like genetic modification, nanotechnology, and cell-based meats. His work bridges psychology, public health, and policy.

Labs & Initiatives: Directed the Rutgers Food Policy Institute and co-founded Rutgers Against Hunger (RAH) to address food insecurity. Established the New Brunswick Community Farmers Market, providing fresh produce to underserved communities.
