William Jaeger is a Professor in the Department of Applied Economics at Oregon State University. His career spans teaching and research in environmental economics, climate change, water policy, and sustainability. He has held visiting positions at the European University Institute (2016) and University of Venice/University of Strasbourg (2023–2024), and previously taught at Williams College, University of Washington, and University of Oregon.

His 15 most recent articles indicate a strong focus on hydro-economic modeling, climate adaptation, and policy evaluation in water-scarce regions. Themes include dam removal, salmon conservation, and institutional responses to ecological crises like invasive species in the Columbia River Basin.
Scientific awards include a Fulbright Scholar grant (2023–2024), a Visiting Fellowship at the European University Institute (2016), and the James and Mildred Oldfield/E.R. Jackman Team Award (2005). Jaeger has also conducted outreach through the Applied Economics Extension at OSU.
