William Henninger

William Henninger is an Associate Professor of Family Studies at the Department of Family, Aging & Counseling within the College of Social & Behavioral Sciences at the University of Northern Iowa (UNI). He currently serves as Department Head, overseeing academic and administrative operations.

• PhD in Human Development and Family Studies from Iowa State University (2010)
• M.S. in Human Development and Family Studies from Iowa State University (2008)
• B.S. in Psychology from Iowa State University (2005)

His research focuses on social emotional development in children, positive behavior supports, and technology applications in family services. He also explores career development of college students and poverty-related impacts on child behavior.

Recent publications highlight trends in education policy (bullying prevention), family dynamics (maternal warmth), and technology-enhanced training for family service workers. Studies span child health care, gerontology education, and social work interventions.

Henninger advises graduate and undergraduate researchers, including A. Osbeck, C. Madigan, K. Hillebrand, and J. Davie. He has contributed to professional development modules and authored book chapters on inclusion policies.
