William Gregory Johnson is a University Lecturer and Associate Director of Undergraduate Studies in the Department of Computer Science at Georgia State University (GSU). He holds a Ph.D. (2020), M.S. (2004), and B.A. (1986) in Computer Science from GSU, the University of North Alabama, respectively. His research focuses on educational data mining and machine learning to improve outcomes for underrepresented groups in CS education. Prior to academia, he spent 20+ years as a software engineer at organizations like the CDC and Microsoft, followed by teaching at Perimeter College (merged with GSU in 2016).
