William Glass is a Professor at the University of Warsaw, specializing in American history, religion, and film studies. He holds degrees from Centre College (BA), Emory University (MA, PhD), and studied church history at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. His research focuses on American Protestantism, the American South, and the cultural analysis of films. He has been affiliated with the University of Warsaw since his Fulbright Fellowship (2003–04) and has received grants from the National Endowment for the Humanities.
Research interests include transatlantic religious movements, Cold War evangelical dynamics, and the intersection of race, religion, and cinema. His notable works explore Billy Graham's influence behind the Iron Curtain, feminist representation in 20th-century films, and Southern fundamentalism's historical evolution.
Key achievements include the Fulbright Fellowship, Outstanding Humanities Faculty Member award (1998), and participation in NEH seminars. His publications span academic journals and edited volumes, addressing themes like American interventionism in film, transnational religious networks, and postbellum Southern reconciliation.
