William Estrada serves as Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Art and Art History at the University of Illinois at Chicago's School of Art and Art History, while concurrently teaching visual art at Telpochcalli Elementary. His current creative collaborations include Mobilize Creative Collaborative, Chicago ACT Collective, and Justseeds Artists’ Cooperative.
Professor Estrada's research centers on developing community-based projects that confront power structures of race, economy, and cultural access in contested spaces. His artistic practice transforms public spaces through creativity to address inequity, migration, historical passivity, and cultural recognition in marginalized communities, using collaborative discourse of images, text, and politics to engage audiences in radical imagination.
