William Dresnack is an Associate Professor in the Department of Finance and Accounting at the Saunders College of Business, Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). He also serves as MBA Program Director. With advanced degrees from Long Island University (BS), SUNY Binghamton (MS), and the University at Buffalo (JD), he holds dual expertise in accounting and law. His teaching focuses on financial accounting, auditing, and taxation, with courses such as ACCT-365 Intermediate Financial Accounting II and ACCT-490 Auditing.
Research interests include accounting education, investment accounting, derivatives policy management, and professional ethics. He has authored over 15 publications on topics ranging from CPA licensure requirements to derivatives frameworks. Notably, he contributed to the CPA Journal and SEC Management Discussion & Analysis (Bloomberg BNA). He currently serves on the New York State Board for Public Accountancy and previously held leadership roles including Senior Associate Dean at Saunders College and Department Head at SUNY Brockport.
Professional recognitions include his licensure as a CPA and attorney, and his 2020 appointment as Vice President of the New York State Society of CPAs. His career spans Deloitte, KPMG, and academia, with a commitment to advancing accounting education and ethical standards.
