William Clayton

William Clayton serves as Senior Lecturer in Human Geography at the School of Architecture and Environment, University of the West of England (UWE Bristol), where he co-leads the BA Geography programme and teaches across undergraduate and postgraduate courses including MSc Transport Engineering and Planning.

Specializing in transport geography, his research examines sustainable transport systems through critical analysis of autonomous vehicles, cycling infrastructure, public transport user experiences, and e-mobility solutions. His work explores how ICT integration transforms travel behavior, investigates barriers to inclusive cycling, and analyzes active travel's role in reducing car dependency using mixed-methodology social research approaches.
