William Chey

William Chey is a Professor in the Division of Gastroenterology & Hepatology at the University of Michigan's Michigan Medicine school. He holds additional roles as Chief of the Division and Professor of Nutrition Sciences.

Research Interests:
Dr. Chey's work focuses on gastroenterology, nutrition sciences, and dietary interventions for gastrointestinal disorders. Key areas include FODMAP diets, Mediterranean diet efficacy, and novel treatments for constipation. His group explores colonic barrier dysfunction, mast cell activation, and patient-centered outcomes.
