William Burke-White is a Professor at the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School, where he focuses on international law, U.S. foreign policy, and global governance. He is also a Non-Resident Senior Fellow at the Brookings Institution, working on multilateral order reform, and Senior Advisor to White & Case LLP, contributing to global thought leadership initiatives.
His research explores the intersection of law and politics in international affairs, with regional expertise in Russia, Eastern Europe, and Latin America. Key projects include analyzing the role of sub-state actors in international law and the impact of shifting global power dynamics on legal norms.
- Recent work emphasizes climate finance, energy security, and international environmental agreements, including proposals for green investment treaties and protocols to address climate funding gaps.
