William Biggs serves as Clinical Assistant Professor of Business Law in the Department of Management, Marketing and General Business at West Texas A&M University's Paul and Virginia Engler College of Business. Joining as a part-time instructor in 2019, he transitioned to full-time status in 2021 after nine years in private practice specializing in commercial litigation and health law.
His educational foundation includes:
- J.D. in Business Law from University of Chicago (2012), where he co-founded the domestic abuse legal clinic
- B.A. in Psychology from University of Texas at Austin (2009)
Dr. Biggs' research centers on healthcare litigation, bankruptcy law conflicts in Texas oil production, and corporate ethics, with particular focus on trademark disputes in emerging industries. His work bridges legal theory and business practice through case study methodology.
Scholarly output features one 2023 publication in The Case Journal examining risks of online legal services, with multiple works in progress analyzing bankruptcy court resistance to Texas oil lien laws and international trademark conflicts. His research consistently connects legal frameworks to real-world business consequences.
