معرفی
William B. Johnson is a Distinguished Professor of Mathematics and holder of the A.G. & M.E. Owen Chair at Texas A&M University's Mathematics Department. His research focuses on Functional Analysis and Probability Theory, with significant contributions to Banach space theory and operator theory. He has been recognized with the 2007 Stefan Banach Medal.
Education: B.A. from Southern Methodist University (1966), Ph.D. from Iowa State University (1969).
Research interests include functional analysis, probability theory, and the Workshop in Analysis and Probability. He serves on editorial boards for journals such as Extracta Mathematicae, Positivity, and the Houston Journal of Mathematics.
Notable awards include the 2007 Stefan Banach Medal. His recent work addresses topics like closed ideals in operator spaces, Schauder bases, and trace properties in Banach spaces.
He advises no listed students but collaborates widely, including with G. Schechtman and G. Pisier. His research has implications for the structure of Banach spaces and operator algebras.
