William A. Johnson

Dr. William A. Johnson serves as an Assistant Professor in The Citadel's Department of Cyber and Computer Sciences and Deputy Director of Academic Engagement at the Citadel Department of Defense Cyber Institute (CDCI). His teaching focuses on computer organization/architecture, reverse engineering, and malware analysis. He advises the Citadel Cyber Security Club (T215) and organizes cadet participation in conferences/competitions.

• Education: BS (2018), MS (2021), and PhD (2022) in Computer Science/Engineering from Tennessee Tech University

Research interests emphasize ethical hacking methodologies, advanced malware detection techniques, post-quantum cryptography applications, and hardware-software interface security. Currently mentoring undergraduate/graduate research projects in cyber defense.
