The Rev. Wil Gafney, Ph.D. is the Right Rev. Sam B. Hulsey Professor of Hebrew Bible at Texas Christian University. An Episcopal priest canonically resident in the Diocese of Pennsylvania and licensed in Texas, she previously served as an Army chaplain and AME Zion Church pastor. Her interdisciplinary work integrates theology, gender studies, and social justice.

Research Focus

She pioneers gender-expansive translations in A Women’s Lectionary for the Whole Church and analyzes prophetic traditions in Daughters of Miriam.
