Wil Fisackerly, Ph.D., is a Lecturer of Sports Business at the Price College of Business, University of Oklahoma. He joined in Fall 2024 after completing his doctoral studies at the University of South Carolina. Known as 'Fisack' in the esports industry, his expertise spans esports finance, collegiate esports ecosystems, and competitive player development. He oversees the Esports Business certificate program and teaches courses in esports management, sports finance, and sales.
Dr. Fisackerly’s research focuses on collegiate esports structures and ecosystem development. His notable work includes analyzing career pathways for esports athletes and comparing environmental impacts of traditional sports versus esports. He has been recognized with a NACE Scholar of the Year nomination and the Doctoral Teacher of the Year award at USC. His current role emphasizes bridging academic theory with practical applications in emerging esports markets.
He holds a Ph.D. from the University of South Carolina’s Sport and Entertainment Management Department. His professional activities include advising on esports program development and fostering industry partnerships to advance educational initiatives in the field.
