Professor Wieslaw Woszczyk is a full professor at McGill University's Schulich School of Music, holding the James McGill Professor Research Chair. He serves as Director of McGill Recording Studios and the Virtual Acoustics Technology Lab. His roles include founding director of the Graduate Program in Sound Recording (1978-1998), Chair of the Department of Theory (1998-2001), and Director of the CIRMMT Centre (2001-2004). He co-founded McGill Records and pioneered the Virtual Haydn Project and Open Orchestra initiatives.
Research interests focus on audio technology, virtual acoustics, and interdisciplinary music-media-technology research. His work includes advancing music recording facilities and digital audio systems. Notable contributions include the development of Virtual Acoustics Technology and leadership in ultra-videoconferencing research.
