Wid Chapman

Wid Chapman is a Part-time Assistant Professor at the Parsons School of Design, part of The New School. He previously chaired the Interior Design department and remains a senior faculty member. His architectural firm, Wid Chapman Architects, specializes in designing restaurants, hotels, student housing, retail spaces, and residential environments internationally. He is a recognized authority in aging-friendly design and co-authored Home Design in an Aging World and Unassisted Living.

Chapman holds an architectural degree from the Rhode Island School of Design. His work emphasizes innovative solutions for diverse environments, with a focus on accessibility and sustainability. He has lectured globally and contributes to industry discourse through publications and media appearances.

He has taught courses including Design Studio 2, Design Studio 3, and Furniture Design at Parsons. His research and practice intersect design innovation with societal needs, particularly addressing aging populations and adaptive living spaces.
