Martha Añez serves as Interim Chair and Professor of Interior Design in the College of Architecture and the Built Environment at Thomas Jefferson University. A registered architect with NCIDQ Certification, she maintains an active residential design practice.

Her research centers on aging in place, specifically addressing accessibility challenges in Philadelphia rowhouses through age-friendly interior environments that prioritize safety, adaptability, and social inclusiveness. She collaborates with occupational therapy professionals to develop flexible housing solutions that evolve with homeowners' needs.
Teaching responsibilities include foundation studio and building technology courses, integrating her professional expertise in residential design with scholarly focus on creating livable communities for aging populations.
