Werner Friedrichs

Dr. Werner Friedrichs is a Researcher in the Department of Didactics of Social Studies at the University of Bamberg's Faculty of Social Sciences, Economics, and Business Administration. His work focuses on radical democracy education, political epistemology, and the intersection of social comparisons with inequality perception in homophilic networks. He leads research projects funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) exploring non-hierarchical collective agency through game-theoretical and computational methods.

Key research interests include postfoundational approaches to political education, the role of affect in democratic processes, and reimagining democracy in the Anthropocene. His publications emphasize experimental pedagogical methods, critical theory, and the didactic potential of art and sound in political education.

He is part of the Political Theory team led by Prof. Johannes Marx and contributes to the Beutelsbacher Consensus framework for 21st-century democracy.
