Anja Lippstreu

Anja Lippstreu is a Researcher at the University of Bamberg, affiliated with the Department of International and European Politics within the Faculty of Social Sciences, Economics, and Business Administration. She is part of Prof. Dr. Monika Heupel's academic team and contributes to teaching and research initiatives. Her research focuses on Human Rights, Climate Change, Norms in International Relations, and the role of the United Nations. She is currently conducting a PhD project titled “Human Rights in a Climate Changed Environment” and holds a Master’s degree from the University of Bamberg, where her thesis explored the sanctity of healthcare in armed conflicts under the title #NotATarget?

Teaching responsibilities include courses such as Introduction to International and European Politics and International Institutions and their Role in Global Governance. Her research projects include examining the legitimacy of international organizations, the protection of fundamental rights, and Western democracies’ extraterritorial human rights obligations. She has contributed to studies like Deliberation in the UN Security Council and International Monitoring without Ratification.
