Dr. Wenya Cheng is a Senior Lecturer in Economics at the University of Glasgow's Adam Smith Business School. She holds a PhD in Economics from the London School of Economics and an undergraduate degree from the University of Hong Kong. Previously, she worked as a Lecturer in Economics at the University of Manchester. Her research focuses on applied economics with specialties in development, labour markets, international trade, and the Chinese economy. She also actively explores pedagogical innovations in higher education, including sustainability integration in curricula and AI's role in teaching. Dr. Cheng has contributed to over a dozen peer-reviewed articles, conference presentations, and book chapters addressing curriculum design, assessment strategies, and multicultural education.
Her academic career spans teaching and research in both economics and educational methodologies. Notable contributions include evaluating in-class exam efficacy, enhancing cross-cultural student interactions, and embedding sustainability into business education.
