Wenxian Li is a Senior Lecturer and ARC Future Fellow at UNSW's School of Chemical Engineering. His research focuses on electrochemistry, catalysis, and sustainable energy materials. He holds a PhD from the University of Wollongong and has held roles at the University of Western Sydney and Shanghai University. His awards include the ARC Future Fellowship (2023) and UOW VC’s Postdoctoral Fellowship (2011).
Education: BEng (Metallurgical Engineering, Northeastern University), PhD (Materials Engineering, UOW).
Research Interests: Electrochemical energy storage, catalytic reaction kinetics, waste plastic recycling, and high-entropy alloys. His work addresses low-energy catalyst design for renewable energy applications.
Grants (Selected 2023-2025): Includes funding for closed-loop chemical recycling of PET, high-entropy alloy catalysts for green hydrogen, and advanced materials research. He also leads the TRaCE-Lab initiative.
Awards: ARC Future Fellow (2023), ARENA Postdoctoral Fellowship, and Shanghai University Eastern Scholar appointment (2015).
Labs/Teams: Active in electrochemical catalysis and materials design, with collaborations on hydrogen production and carbon capture.
