معرفی
Weng Ng is a Research Fellow at Diamond Light Source's Electron Bio-Imaging Centre (eBIC), where he joined in September 2023. He concurrently leads an independent research group at the Research Complex at Harwell (RCaH), initiated through his Wellcome Early-Career Award (2023-2028). Previously, he was a Postdoctoral Researcher at The Jenner Institute, focusing on structural vaccinology of rabies virus under Dr. Sandy Douglas.
Education:
DPhil from the University of Oxford (2021), specializing in structural characterization of arenaviral glycoproteins using X-ray crystallography and cryo-EM.
Research Focus:
His work integrates structural biology, immunology, and cell biology to study viral glycoproteins of enveloped RNA viruses. Key aims include elucidating pathobiological mechanisms and enabling rational design of vaccines/therapeutics. Research areas span:
- High-resolution structural analysis of viral entry machinery
- Antibody neutralization mechanisms
- Conformational stabilization for immunogen design
- Host-pathogen interactions
Awards:
- Wellcome Early-Career Award (2023-2028)
