Wendy Vance

Wendy Vance is a Senior Lecturer at Murdoch University's School of Agricultural Sciences within the College of Environmental and Life Sciences. Her research focuses on overcoming abiotic constraints in crop production, particularly soil physical properties and acidity, with international fieldwork across Southeast Asia through ACIAR projects. She develops rapid soil assessment techniques to improve smallholder farmers' livelihoods through crop diversification and yield enhancement.

Her work bridges practical agricultural solutions with fundamental soil science, emphasizing sustainable farming systems in developing economies. Current research explores soil information systems and land capability frameworks to address food security challenges.
