Dr. Wendy Tang is a Researcher in the Department of Entomology at Texas A&M University, affiliated with the College of Agriculture & Life Sciences. She works under Dr. Gabriel Hamer and is based at HPCT 515, College Station.
Education:
- B.S. Pharmacy (Fudan University, China)
- Ph.D. Pharmaceutical Biochemistry (Uppsala University, Sweden)
Research Focus: Biochemistry and virology with specialization in medical entomology. Her work includes studying flaviviruses in mosquitoes, SARS-CoV2 detection in animal body fluids using BSL2/BSL3 labs, and drug discovery projects. She applies molecular techniques to understand vector-borne disease transmission and antiviral development.
Labs: Conducts research in Biosafety Level 2 and 3 laboratories. Part of Texas A&M AgriLife Research initiatives focused on agricultural and life sciences applications.
