Wendy Stubbs is an Associate Professor in the School of Social Sciences at Monash University, specializing in corporate sustainability and purpose-driven business models. Her research explores how businesses can holistically address environmental, social, and economic responsibilities, with a focus on B Corps, purpose ecosystems, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). She leads major ARC-funded projects like 'Sustainability Transformation Pathways for SMEs' and co-investigates the global TRANSFORM initiative.
Her PhD (2006) pioneered the 'sustainability business model' concept, recognized as foundational in the field. She has taught corporate sustainability for over 15 years in Monash’s graduate programs. Notable awards include top 0.05% global ranking in Sustainability by ScholarGPS (2024), Banksia Research Award (2019), and multiple teaching commendations.
Research interests span sustainability reporting, integrated reporting effectiveness, and governance mechanisms for SDG alignment. Recent work examines SMEs’ experimentation with transformative business models and B Corps’ stakeholder engagement strategies. Her contributions bridge academia and industry via advisory roles with CPA Australia and global sustainability partnerships.
