Wendy Sigle

Professor Wendy Sigle is a Professor of Gender and Family Studies at the Department of Gender Studies, London School of Economics and Political Science. She is currently on sabbatical leave for 2024-25. Her expertise includes feminist quantitative research, stratification, family policy analysis, and critical approaches to demographic data interpretation.

Her research focuses on interrogating methodological assumptions in quantitative studies, particularly how demographic indicators like ethnicity or relationship status can marginalize minority groups. She also examines the validity of development indicators such as gender equality metrics in global policy frameworks.

As a PhD supervisor, she supports students in Zuzana Dancikova, Ross Barker (Methodology), and Sophie Legros (International Development). Her work bridges feminist economics, population studies, and policy analysis.
