Dr. Wendy Powell is an Associate Professor and Philip Eijlander Fellow at Tilburg University's Department of Cognitive Science and Artificial Intelligence (TSHD). Her research focuses on Virtual Reality (VR) applications in healthcare, e-commerce, and human-computer interaction. She holds a PhD in Virtual Reality from the University of Portsmouth and has over 15 years of experience in VR research and teaching.
Education: Bachelor's in Computer Science (Open University), PhD in Virtual Reality (University of Portsmouth).
Research interests include VR rehabilitation, immersive technology's impact on behavior, and e-commerce user experience. Notable contributions include the LoCoMoTe framework for VR locomotion classification and the LoCoMoTe Dashboard tool. She has secured €1M+ in research funding for projects like Avatars for Elderly Care and Mixed Reality in Biochemistry Education.
Teaching includes courses on Virtual/Augmented Reality, Human-Computer Interaction, and Statistics. A Senior Member of IEEE and active in professional networks like ISVR and Women in VR.
