Dr. Wendy Peters is an Adjunct Faculty member at Antioch University with a rich academic background in transpersonal psychology and Indigenous studies. Originally from Hawaii, she earned her PhD and MA in Psychology/Transpersonal Studies from Sofia University (formerly Institute of Transpersonal Psychology) and a B.S. in Electronics Management from Southern Illinois University.

Her research focuses on bio-psycho-social determinants of health for vulnerable populations, with particular emphasis on Indigenous women's experiences, intergenerational trauma, and culturally grounded mentoring models. She combines systems thinking with traditional Indigenous knowledge to address health disparities and promote cultural revitalization.
Dr. Peters has published extensively on topics such as Indigenous soul wounding, cultural mentoring, and health equity. Her recent publications (2014-2022) demonstrate a consistent focus on Indigenous health, trauma recovery, and cultural preservation through academic and traditional knowledge frameworks.
She has presented at numerous APA conventions and specialized conferences including topics on:
