Wendy Guastaferro

Wendy Guastaferro is a full-time Professor at Florida Atlantic University's School of Criminology & Criminal Justice. Her research focuses on behavioral health interventions for substance abuse and mental health in criminal justice settings, including family treatment courts and opioid use disorder mitigation.

• Co-PI on $2.6M HHS-funded cognitive behavioral intervention study
• PI on Department of Homeland Security-funded research about extremist violence prevention
• Collaborates with Sandler School of Social Work and Palm Beach County agencies
• Published in Substance Use & Misuse, Journal of Substance Abuse Treatment, and other justice-focused journals

She teaches courses in criminal justice policy, health and justice, courts, and program evaluation. Dr. Guastaferro also serves on the editorial board of Health & Justice journal and participates in Impact 100 Palm Beach County's community grant initiatives.
