Dr. Wendy Fitzgibbon is a Reader in Criminology at the University of Westminster, affiliated with the Department of Social Sciences and the Centre for Social Justice Research. She holds administrative roles as Director of Research for Sociology and Criminology and Deputy Director of the Centre. Her career spans probation service roles, European Parliament research, and academic positions at multiple UK universities.
Education: Graduated from North London Polytechnic in Applied Social Studies/Social Work (details unspecified), completed a PhD in 2008. Research focuses on comparative probation systems, criminal justice privatization, risk management of dangerous offenders, and Photovoice methodologies to engage marginalized groups.
Teaching includes modules on punishment, criminology dissertations, and privatized justice systems.
