Wenbin Luo is a faculty member in the Department of Engineering at St. Mary's University since 2003. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Engineering (2003) and an M.S. in Statistics (2002) from the University of New Mexico, alongside an M.S. (1999) and B.S. (1996) in Electrical Engineering from Fudan University, China. He also earned professional certifications in computer security and Linux administration.

Luo’s research spans image processing, network security, and machine learning. His work focuses on developing algorithms for data hiding, noise removal, and security protocols, with applications in biomedical imaging and encrypted media. He has contributed to hashing techniques and statistical modeling.
Recent publications highlight his expertise in multi-MSB replacement for encrypted images, meta-learning for film style transfer, and adaptive filtering for noise reduction. These works intersect computer vision, signal processing, and deep learning.
