معرفی
Wellington Pham is an Assistant Professor of Radiology and Radiological Sciences at Vanderbilt Medical School and a Professor of Biomedical Engineering at Vanderbilt University’s School of Engineering. He holds dual appointments in Radiology and Biomedical Engineering. His research focuses on integrating medicinal chemistry with molecular imaging to develop novel PET probes for Alzheimer’s disease diagnostics. He earned his B.S. and Ph.D. in Chemistry and Medicinal Chemistry from the University of Toledo, followed by postdoctoral training at UCLA and Harvard Medical School.
Research Interests:
- Development of PET radioligands targeting amyloid plaques, oxidative stress, and neurodegenerative biomarkers
- Translation of preclinical imaging agents into animal models of Alzheimer’s
- Nanobody-based probes for early disease detection
His recent work emphasizes ergothioneine-based PET agents and inhalable therapeutics for retinal amyloid detection. Collaborations with the Department of Pharmacology advance nanobody technologies. He serves on editorial boards for Journal of Nanomedicine and Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease.
