Rachele Stefania is Associate Professor in the Department of Science and Technological Innovation. Her research develops nanoplatforms for cancer theranostics, focusing on MRI contrast agents, PSMA-targeted probes, and combination therapies. Recent work includes collagen III imaging for cardiac applications, boron-nitrogen AIE probes, and electrostatic-enhanced MRI agents.
Key innovations include PSMA-targeted silicon phthalocyanines for prostate cancer photodynamic therapy and fluorinated curcumin derivatives for amyloid plaque detection. Her lab specializes in translating molecular imaging concepts into preclinical applications through nanoparticle engineering and probe chemistry.
