Weizhen Ji is a Research Scientist in Pediatrics (Critical Care) at Yale School of Medicine. They hold a PhD from Tulane University (1996). Their research focuses on genetic and genomic studies of pediatric disorders, including neurodevelopmental disabilities, congenital heart diseases, and rare genetic syndromes. Collaborations with clinicians and researchers like Saquib Lakhani and Lauren Jeffries are central to their work.
Key research interests include analyzing genetic variants in conditions such as multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children, epileptic encephalopathy, ciliopathies, and short stature syndromes. Over 30 peer-reviewed publications since 2000 highlight contributions to understanding genetic mechanisms and clinical applications of genomic data.
Active in translational research, Ji contributes to the Yale Pediatric Genomics Discovery Program, aiding clinical diagnosis and treatment strategies. They are also involved in clinical trials, including the Pediatric Genomics Discovery Program (PGDP), and can be contacted at weizhen.ji@yale.edu.
