Weiwei Zhang

Weiwei Zhang is an Associate Professor in the Department of Finance and Business Law at James Madison University's College of Business. He holds a Ph.D. in Finance from the University of Alabama (2017) and an M.A. in International Studies from Yonsei University (2004). His research focuses on empirical corporate finance, corporate governance, and corporate social responsibility. Teaching specialties include quantitative investment analysis and financial analysis principles.

Research interests span executive compensation, corporate decision-making, and household financial behavior. His work has been published in journals like Journal of Banking and Finance and International Review of Economics & Finance.

Awarded the JMU Lacrosse Most Valuable Professor (MVP) in 2023, he previously served as a Visiting Assistant Professor at JMU (2017–2018) and held roles at Standard Chartered Bank (2006–2010) and Hana Bank (2004–2006).
