Weihong Xu is an Associate Professor in the Accounting and Law department at the University at Buffalo's School of Management. She holds a PhD from Washington University in St. Louis and an MA/BA from Zhongshan University in China.
Her research focuses on financial accounting/reporting and corporate governance, with specific interests in accruals management, accounting conservatism, and management forecast accuracy.
Recent publications explore themes in earnings management, accounting conservatism's impact on forecast bias, and the valuation implications of accruals accounting.
Prof. Xu teaches courses in Introduction to Accounting II and Intermediate Financial Accounting I, bringing both academic expertise and professional experience from her previous position as Assistant Professor at Vanderbilt University.
