Weidi Liu

Dr. Weidi Liu is a Researcher at the Centre for Materials Science, Queensland University of Technology (QUT), specializing in energy materials science with expertise in thermoelectric materials and advanced microscopy.

Her research focuses on developing high-performance thermoelectric materials through hierarchical structure design strategies including doping, deep alloying, compositing, and boundary recrystallization. This work has achieved ultrahigh dimensionless figure of merit across temperature ranges and enabled novel microscale thermoelectric devices with exceptional energy conversion efficiency and power density. Applications extend to wearable energy harvesters and low-grade waste heat recovery systems, advancing emission-free, vibration-free solutions for chip cooling and personal thermal management.

Dr. Liu's contributions center on extending thermoelectric technology through system-level innovation while deepening fundamental understanding of material properties and performance optimization.
