معرفی
Professor Wei Zhang is a faculty member at the Advanced Technology Institute (ATI), part of the School of Computer Science and Electronic Engineering at the University of Surrey. His research focuses on energy technologies, particularly halide perovskites for photovoltaic and light-emission applications, nanomaterials for energy storage/conversion, and nanofabrication techniques involving metal oxides, plasmonic materials, and photonic crystals. He leads the NPL academic leadership team and actively contributes to advancing sustainable energy solutions.
His teaching includes courses such as EEE2042 Electronic and Photonic Devices and serves as a tutor for undergraduate students. Professor Zhang supervises PhD students like Yukun Guo and Xiao Zhang, with past supervisees including Dr. Bowei Li and Dr. Joshua Reding (co-supervised with Prof. Jeremy Allam).
His research projects include developing high-performance perovskite solar cells using vertically aligned carbon nanotube arrays. Recognitions include being named among the world’s most influential researchers in 2023. His work spans collaborations on hybrid energy systems, advanced materials for batteries, and optoelectronic device innovations.
Labs and teams: Advanced Technology Institute (ATI) serves as his primary research hub, fostering interdisciplinary projects in energy and nanotechnology.
