Wei Song is Professor and Chair of the Department of Geography and Geosciences at the University of Louisville. He holds a PhD from The Ohio State University and Master's/Bachelor's degrees from Peking University. His research specializes in urban economic geography, transportation systems, crime mapping, and spatial analysis methodologies.
Dr. Song's work examines urban dynamics in China, transportation accessibility, and spatial patterns of socioeconomic phenomena. His publications frequently analyze spatial interactions in urban environments and transportation networks. Recent research explores consumer behavior patterns, urban greenery assessment, and population mobility networks.
He has mentored graduate students in projects ranging from brand preference spatial analysis to crime pattern examination in urban environments. Dr. Song teaches courses including Economic Geography, Transportation Geography, and Advanced Spatial Statistics.
