Wei Peng

Wei Peng is an Assistant Professor of Public and International Affairs and a member of the Andlinger Center for Energy and the Environment at Princeton University. She holds a Ph.D. from Princeton's Science, Technology, and Environmental Policy (STEP) program and a B.S. in Environmental Science from Peking University. Her research focuses on modeling human-centered decarbonization pathways, integrating political economy insights into energy systems modeling, and assessing health co-benefits of climate policies. She is affiliated with the Center for Policy Research on Energy and the Environment (C-PREE).

Her work emphasizes socially and politically feasible climate strategies, including analyses of coal plant retirements, electric vehicle transitions, and subnational climate actions. Peng leads the Peng Group, actively recruiting postdocs, Ph.D. students, and visiting researchers in areas like political economy modeling and health impacts of decarbonization.
