Dr. Wei Liu is a Lecturer in Strategy, Operations, and Entrepreneurship at the Essex Business School, University of Essex. She joined the university on 1 January 2018 and currently works at the Southend Campus. Her academic journey includes a BBA in Business Administration from Jilin University, followed by an MSc and PhD in Tourism Management from the University of Surrey.

Wei’s research focuses on enhancing resilience and robustness in tourism, hospitality, and events sectors, particularly during unprecedented disruptions. She supervises PhD students in entrepreneurship and management studies while teaching courses such as Business Economics and Introduction to Business Analytics.
