Dr. Wei Li is a Research Fellow in the Department of Psychiatry at Yale School of Medicine, affiliated with the Yale Tobacco Center of Regulatory Science. His research focuses on tobacco control, regulatory science, and public health epidemiology with a specialization in e-cigarette use patterns among adolescents and young adults. He holds an MD from Lanzhou University, a MPH from Saint Louis University, and a PhD in Epidemiology from Florida International University.
Research interests include nicotine reduction strategies, flavor use analysis, health communication campaigns, and longitudinal studies on chronic diseases such as metabolic syndrome and renal health. His work integrates clinical laboratory studies with large-scale national datasets like the PATH Study and China Health Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS).
Dr. Li collaborates with teams investigating behavioral health outcomes, including projects on epilepsy and nicotine use, as well as the impact of traditional Chinese medicine on renal function. He has contributed to global health initiatives analyzing progress toward nutrition targets and disease burden trends in the United States and globally.
He currently holds positions at the Pierce Laboratories and Connecticut Mental Health Center, actively publishing on topics ranging from vaping retail trends to sex-specific cardiovascular disease risks. His work emphasizes translational research bridging epidemiology, behavioral science, and public health policy.
