Wei Gao is an Assistant Professor of Pharmacology at the University of Houston College of Pharmacy, specializing in the Department of Pharmacological and Pharmaceutical Sciences. With a focus on nanomedicine and immunotherapy, Dr. Gao develops innovative strategies to modulate B cells and myeloid cells for treating cancer and immune diseases.

Recent publications highlight advancements in tumor microenvironment-responsive nanoparticles, multidrug resistance reversal, and combinatorial immunotherapy strategies.
Dr. Gao is a co-investigator on the NIH R01 CA285790-01 grant (2024-2029) and a member of the American Association for Cancer Research, Controlled Release Society, American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists, and Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer.
