Dr. Wei Bao is an Assistant Professor in Materials Science and Engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI). He holds a B.S. from Peking University, an M.S. from UCLA, and a Ph.D. from UC Berkeley, followed by postdoctoral research at UC Berkeley's Nanoscale Science and Engineering Center until 2019.
His research focuses on optical materials and photonics, with expertise in quantum optics, metamaterials, and optoelectronics. Key projects include polariton condensation, nonlinear photonics, and room-temperature quantum phenomena in perovskites.
